Nerja, once a sleepy fishing village, now has a population of over 20,000. Nerja is a low -rise town with 17th century church, cobbled streets and pretty white washed houses. Nerja is surrounded by a the Sierra Almijara mountain range. Although Nerja has expanded over the last 40 years, it has avoided the high-rise buildings seen at some costal resorts in the Costa del Sol.


The beauty of Nerja include cove beaches and a palm - lined promenade. Nerja is very popular with English and many of the businesses and properties are British owned. Nerja is on the eastern sea shore approx. 50 km from Malaga and is connected to the western end of the Costa del Sol by a dual carriage motorway.
